Caliber Design’s Matador eCRM or Customer Relationship Management software was originally developed for a nutritional supplement company. Customers were visiting the company’s web site, and although it was very detailed, they still had questions and concerns.

The nutritional supplement company was having great success running their ecommerce site but had no way to process a telephone order. When someone called in with questions about a product, the call center could not immediately close a sale and instead had to direct the customer back to the web site, where he could place an order.

Customers called in all the time with needs related to their order. They might ask:

·        Can I place my order with you over the phone?

·        I ordered online, can you pull up my web order and make sure I placed it correctly?

·        Can I add another item to the order I just placed on your site?

·        Where’s my package?

·        Can I mail you a check?

·        Can I fax in my order?”

·        Can I upgrade my shipping method from ground to overnight?”

·        Can I get a refund?

In other words, sooner or later, all ecommerce web sites of any significant size realize that they have to set up a call center and they need software like Matador from Caliber Design to process the orders.

You see, today, most ASP’s are only helping their customers meet half their needs. Most are leaving a huge piece of business on the table: the ability to offer an eCRM or Customer Relationship Management solution for running a call center that’s fully integrated with an ecommerce site.

ASP’s offering ecommerce solutions are commonplace, but there are almost none that offer a unified system for processing all forms of customer transactions. Ecommerce transactions typically account for only about 20% of a business’s overall transactions.
