4.     Where do customer records reside? In Intershop or Matador?

All customer records reside in the Intershop Sybase database. Regardless of where an order originated, the web, a mailed in check, a fax, a wire transfer, or the telephone, since there is only one database for customer history, order history, transactions, shipping information and inventory. All information is available to everyone in real time anywhere there is a connection to the Net. There is never anything to sync because nothing is ever out of sync.
